Share to inspire |
Words are the voice of the heart. |
Why share to inspire? It is through the sharing and reflection of our words, ideas and stories that we can gain insight, strength and courage to live life. We learn to understand and accept other people and the world we share. Words have the power to connect us all and, when they are positive and inspirational, they can transform lives. .....be part of the inspiration!
The act of telling one's story: expressing gratitude for what we have in life and sharing our journey with others, can be an extraordinary and healing experience for both the writer and the reader.
We accept
submissions from anyone, any age, who has something inspiring to share, and will consider all
contributions received that are relevant to the intentions of the journal.
We
appreciate photos being sent with your stories where possible. Please refer to
the photographic guidelines for more information.
Please
check the section descriptions to determine for which area your story is best
suited and forward it appropriately. State the section in the subject line if via email, or on front of the envelope if
via post.
For
charities, foundations, organisations, businesses, projects and alike, please refer to the advertising guidelines.
For all
submissions via post, material should be saved on a CD-R or typed on white paper.
If sending work by hard copy, we suggest that you retain the originals as we
are unable to return them.
At present
we can only acknowledge submissions that are sent via email, and will endeavour

Content
inspire publishes stories, quotes and words that come from a positive and
inspirational perspective. Although it is sometimes necessary to show contrast
within a story to reveal its true inspiration, please read over your work
carefully before submitting to our journal to be sure that you leave readers feeling
positive, hopeful and encouraged.
We are
not a religious, spiritual or political journal. We ask that any mention of these topics is to be done so in respect for
other people’s freedom to choose their own beliefs.
Style
and Clarity
We follow
the English/Australian spelling and grammar style.
Most of
the stories in our journal are written in first-person context. Please contact
us if you are unsure how it applies to your submission.
Please
keep your writing simple, to the point and easy to read. Avoid the use of
jargon and cliché where possible.
We prefer work to be submitted in
12 point Times New Roman font (normal) without any
additional formatting, such as bold, italic or multiple columns.
Editing
inspire reserves the right to edit articles for spelling, grammar,
clarity, space and consistency in tune with our editorial style, and for legal
purposes. If extensive editing is required we may return your work for
re-writing. If your work is edited by our staff you
will have the opportunity to approve the edited submission before printing.

Payment for Submissions
We would love to pay all our contributors, but
as we are a new and independent journal we are unable to at present, and are
very grateful for your understanding and continuous support. Material published
in inspire will be credited to the contributor. We also offer professional freelance writers and photographers the opportunity to include a short bio with their work in the journal. These
are available on request and subject to space in the corresponding issue.
PHOTOGRAPHIC GUIDELINES
We publish
inspirational photos of human interaction and expression, photos that highlight
the true wonder of the world we live in or those that reveal the connectedness
between humans and nature. Humorous photos are also welcome if relevant to the
journal’s intentions.
Keep
photos simple and tightly composed, these translate better than expansive
photos with too much background distraction. It is said that a picture is worth
a thousand words. Your photos should be able to tell a
story
that is self evident and moves the viewer.
Photos
should be scanned at no less than 300dpi, saved in TIF or JPEG format, and
supplied as a CMYK. Digital cameras are usually set as RGB but photos can be
converted to CMYK by Adobe Photoshop.
We prefer photos to be sent via email or
cd-rom. If sending via post, please retain the originals as we are unable to
return them.
Terms
and Conditions for Photographic Submissions
inspire journal reserves the right to edit all photographic submissions it receives.
Please be
aware that, if approved for publication, your photo will be displayed to the
public.
By submitting
photographic images to inspire you acknowledge that you have
sufficient written permission, from any individuals appearing in the
photograph, to be able to grant inspire journal the right to
publish your photographic submission.
Please also refer to the copyright information in the general guidelines.
In submitting photos to inspire
you are agreeing to these terms.
